Brother & Sister Yellow Dominant Cammies!

We received a couple early 2014 Christmas presents here at CaraParrots.com!

Introducing the latest additions to our CaraParrots family! Harvey & Shelia (Scarlet Macaw & 1st Gen Hybrid Catalina Macaw) are the proud parents (again) of these two cuties. These 2nd generation, yellow dominant Camelot Macaw siblings were born a little over a week apart (11/27/14 & 12/6/14).

More pics are available here on our Facebook page. (You must be logged into Facebook and 'Friend' us to view.)

Our baby Macaws are equally well known for their sweet temperament, as they are for their beauty. Please note the exceptional contrast in coloration on older baby (hatch date 11/27/2014) from the vibrant body & wing feathers, with very distinct scalloping, to the pastel lavender & blues in tail.

The younger chick (hatch date 12/6/2014) displays primarily lime green body feathers which play off it's orange & gold beautifully. The tail is colored in a variety of blues & hi-lited with yellow. Real treasures for the discerning collector, or for the aviculturist desiring to add to his/her future breeder stock.

These cuties have been adopted, buuuut we've heard ALOT of "romance" going on in our aviary and we're expecting a visit from the 'spring stork" any day now! Visit our Facebook page for the latest info on new hatches. You must be logged into Facebook and 'Friend' us to view. Thanks for looking!

Greenwings & Cammies!

CaraParrots.com is the proud parents of 2 super active & cute Greenwing Macaw babies (hatch dates 7/28/14 & 8/8/14). Both of these little charmers have been adopted…but knowing the parents we'll have more before the first snow!  If you are looking for a Greenwing Macaw, please contact us to reserve a spot on our waiting list.  More pictures & info will be posted soon so please keep checking CaraParrots.com!

Super Cute Baby Cammie!

"Harvey & Shelia" (our Scarlet & Catalina pair) were the proud parents (again) of another beautiful baby Camelot. He/she is the sibling of their other colorful kids Cocoa, StarShine & Juliet…and we're sure he/she will be gorgeous! This little guy/girl hatched on 3/31/2014…almost an April Fools baby. Keep checking CaraParrots.com for adoption details that will be determined on how he/she feathers out.

Baby Hybrid Red-Dom Camelot Macaw
'Cocoa' Adopted!

(Click the speaker icon in upper left corner to listen/mute the slideshow music.)

CaraParrots.com is proud to present our newest baby girl to the world! Cocoa was born on 12/10/13 and was recently adopted by Marie, in Massachusetts. We're calling her Cocoa because of rich, chocolate brown beard & shoulders. Other colors range from red (more like green wing red/not scarlet red) greens, lime, teal, black tipping, blues, gold, orange, ochre, ombre, turquoise, lavender...and I think I missed a few. Such an impressive array of color! She is feathering into another stunning multi-gen, hybrid red-dom Camelot Macaw…the kind of which CaraParrots is known worldwide for!

Cocoa is another special CaraParrot, due to her rarity & genetic potential.  Her sister, Juliette, displays the pied mutation (pink wing tips) & her brother Starshine has 2 pink toe nails which are indicative of the pied mutation also. The few birds I breed are strictly for collectors and/or other multi-gen breeders.

Baby Hybrid Yellow-Dom Camelot 'Starshine' Adopted!

(Click the speaker icon in upper left corner to listen/mute the slideshow music.)

Heeeeeeeere's Starshine! He is a stunning multi-gen hybrid yellow-dom Camelot Macaw…possibly carrying the "pied" mutation. For an indication of how the mutation could affect Starshine's offspring, please check out his sister "Juliette's" pics in our Gallery. Starshine was born on 9/22/13 and was recently adopted by Bill in California.

His sister, Juliette, actually displays the pied mutation (pink wing tips), while Starshine has 2 pink toe nails which are indicative of the pied mutation. Please call or email Barb at CaraParrots.com for more info on our upcoming beautiful baby CaraParrots!

Well Harvey & Shelia did a great parenting job keeping our new CaraParrot hybrid baby  warm…not that they needed that much help with temps in the 80's for much of March here in Chicagoland. Pinky hatched on 3/11/12 and is going to be YELLOW DOMINANT…notice the PINK TIPPED toe on right foot! Congrats to Bill  on his latest CaraParrot baby!

Congratulations to the Pierce family on the adoption of their new CaraParrot Dexter, a sweet Congo African Grey! We'll sure miss you Dex but we know that you'll LOVE your new home!

CONGRATS to Marla in Maryland on the adoption of her new CaraParrot CAPRI baby boy Ozzy! Here's a nice email I recently received.

From: Marla
To: CaraParrots - Barbara Parish
Subject: 'Ozzy'

Hi Barb:

How are you? I thought I would send these pictures of our "boy" to you.  He is doing so well (spoiled as heck).    The moment we let him out of the cage in the morning he just flaps his wings in joy.  He flies off of the cage now and walks upstairs to be with my husband (we have a Manzanita perch upstairs that he can look out the window from).

He is now yelling out my name (just as my husband yells for me) .... MAAAARRRRLLLLAAAA .... so funny.  He also says Shut up! Your new baby is just a beauty.  Can you send me more pics of him?  I just love to look at beautiful birdies!

Marla

Congrats to the Stevens family on their adoption of Abbie, a beautiful  Congo African Grey! Enjoy your new home home Abbie, your in great hands!

Congrats & Thank You to Brian on his recent adoptions of some Macaw, Ekkie & Rare Red Fronted Macaw breeders and a pair of Senior Bare Eye ‘Toos. Merrick is pictured above with some of Brian's other therapy birds having a snack with his special needs 'kids.'

Hi Barb,

Skittles is doing well - didn't have much luck with the feeding, but I'm sure another attempt or 2 and we'll be fine. Just thought you might like a couple photos of her at her new home. Took a couple pics of her on the patio and out front on the picnic table with the kids. Thanks again - she is such a sweetie and soooo beautiful!!!

Hugs,

Laurie

Congratulations  to the DuBois family of Peotone, IL on their adoption of their CaraParrot, Guido that hatched November 9th, 2010. This sweet baby boy Camelot Hybrid Macaw is feathering out in brilliant shades of orange, blue, green, gold & yellow. As of July 2011 we've learned that Guido's learned some new words including "Hello" & "What's Up" and he like to laugh now! ...what a smart CaraParrot!

Congrats to Melodye, the bird toy lady whose handmade toys are shown on our For Sale Page, on her adoption of Punkin...now known as Hermione (as in Gingold.) Hermione was a Godzilla Jenday Conure (joking... she's a gorgeous female baby Camelot Macaw!) Hatched on April 16th, 2010. When mature she may grow-up to look like Paula & Don's beautiful baby Camelot Macaw Scooter Bug as seen below. That orange is like fluorescent glow-in-the-dark paint!

Congratulations to Paula & Don on the new addition to their family. They came all the way from Virginia to pick-up their beautiful baby Camelot Macaw, Scooter Bug. Paula & Don are definitely "critter people" and no strangers to feathered and four legged friends as they already have a Caique, Sphynx cats & show dogs. They absolutely adore their new CaraParrot baby & "phoned in" all the way back to East Coast to give me "up-dates."

Congratulations to new 'CaraParrot Parrent' Heather from Griffith, IN on the adoption of her cute baby Quaker.  It was love at first sight!  Wish I had a pic of the expression on her face as she initially held the baby Quaker in her hands!  Her Dad, Mike, is also a customer and had previously adopted a Congo African Grey.

Royal has a new home! Jennifer found CaraParrots online & fell in love with Royal. Besides a Macaw AND a Moluccan Cockatoo, Jennifer also has seven children and a husband...in that order. She says she is starting her own "Neverland" in the Chicago suburb of Shorewood.  Real nice family!  Royal got a great 2nd home!

Congrats to Tracy G. in Ohio on the adoption of her CaraParrot Mango; a male Gold/Orange Dominant Capri!  Below is a nice email I received from Tracy.

Subject: Hope Mango's settling in...

High Barb!

Mango is settling in beautifully. He didn't want to eat but about 12cc's this morning before he snubbed me for his  goodie bowl full with fruit, veggies, pasta and such. He did some nibbling all day, great looking poops. This evening  when I came for feeding he waddled right over and patienty waited while I filled each syringe.

He ate 70 cc's from the syringes and a nibble or two from the remaining spoonful then waddled over to the goodie bowl again. Little grunts of contentment the entire time. He's become very acquainted with both boys and they are thrilled to get to know him. Here's a couple of pics taken today. The last picture is Mango with my oldest son and his girlfriend Mandy. I have pictures of my youngest with him this evening but haven't downloaded them yet.

Barb we couldn't be more happy with Mango. You've done a wonderful job with him and I couldn't be more pleased.  The level of nurturing and care you put into raising him is very obvious. Thank you for allowing me to make Mango a part of my family!!

Tracy
